Yes! Dr. Jean offers same-day care to ensure that our patients get back to optimal health as soon as possible after experiencing a dental emergency. We do our best to keep emergency appointments open to be able to provide you with immediate care.

This ensures we have time to adjust our schedule and prepare for your visit. However, we also accept walk-ins for dental emergencies. We generally consider a dental emergency to be any condition that is causing oral pain, bleeding, or discomfort, and that you cannot treat on your own.

One obvious example of a dental emergency is damage due to oral injury. If your tooth is cracked, chipped, loose, or knocked-out, this is a serious emergency. You will need to get immediate care from Dr. Jean in order to ensure the best possible outcome for your oral health.

There are many other, less obvious conditions that also qualify as emergencies. This includes serious toothaches, which could indicate a severely decayed or infected tooth, as well as pulled-out or loose dental work (fillings, crowns, etc.), and oral lacerations. 

• First, call an experienced dentist in Margate right away to let us know that you’re coming in for an emergency appointment. To save your tooth, it must be replaced within 1-2 hours.
• Next, recover your tooth. Grab it by the top (crown) and not the bottom (root) to avoid damaging it.
• Rinse your tooth gently in warm water, if necessary.
• Keep your tooth moist by replacing it in its socket or putting it in a small container of cold milk. This will keep the pulp alive and make it easier to reimplant it.
• Once your tooth is secure, come to our office right away. Your tooth must be splinted into place as soon as possible for it to re-attach to the socket
