Dr. Pamela Ortiz was born in Puerto Rico. As a child she moved to the United States with her family only to return to her native Puerto Rico at the age of 9. From a young age, Dr. Ortiz was involved in serving her local community. Her grandfather would sponsor annual holiday events where she would help by distributing gifts to families in need. She spent most of her free time helping customers at her grandfather’s supermarket or at his farm caring for the animals.
Dr. Ortiz obtained her dental degree from Howard University College of Dentistry where she consistently made the Dean’s List, ranked among the top her of class, and was awarded the Department of Orthodontics Award. During dental school Dr. Ortiz was a member of the National Children’s Oral Health Foundation; an organization dedicated to educating parents and children in underserved communities about oral health and preventive services.
Upon graduation she attended the orthodontic residency program at The State University of New York at Buffalo where she obtained her Masters degree and specialty training. She is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics and her master thesis was displayed at the 2017 American Association of Orthodontics Annual Session held in San Diego.
As a college student, Dr. Ortiz worked at her father’s orthodontic practice. While there, she witnessed first-hand the positive impact a smile can have on a person and discovered her passion for orthodontics. She believes in a patient-first approach and remains committed to listening to her patients, then helping them achieve solutions that will address their concerns.

Yes! We offer orthodontic treatment for patients of all ages at Lifestyle Dental Care. The American Association of Orthodontics recommends that every child see an orthodontist by the age of seven. This allows us to screen for skeletal and dental abnormalities early on and determine when the right time to intervene is. Although some children who need orthodontic treatment don’t get braces until most of their permanent teeth have come in, a fair number of children can highly benefit from receiving treatment before all their adult teeth come in. This is especially true if they have a cross-bite, severe crowding, underbite, or protruding teeth.
Yes! We offer both traditional metal braces and Invisalign. Patients of all ages are choosing Invisalign because it offers a more discreet treatment without using metal wires and brackets. Invisalign uses a series of clear plastic aligners to move your teeth into the proper position and restore your bite. These aligners are virtually invisible, and are removable. For these reasons, Invisalign is a very popular orthodontic treatment.
Metal braces are the most versatile and powerful method of orthodontic correction. They can be used to treat even the most serious and difficult orthodontic problems, including jaw discrepancies, overbites and underbites, and they are able to work alongside other orthodontic devices such as palate expanders and headgear. Also, metal braces are not removable, unlike Invisalign, so they will straighten your teeth 24/7.
Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible when worn and since they are removable, you can eat and drink without dietary restrictions, which means that you can clean your teeth more effectively. They are perfect for patients who play sports, instruments, and for patients with sensory concerns.
Invisalign offers a very comfortable treatment. The plastic aligners shift your teeth gradually with gentle pressure and they won’t irritate your cheeks or gums. Since aligners don’t require regular adjustments, you’ll spend less time in the dentist’s chair during your treatment.
